Drawing from the golden tones of old soul, jazz, folk, and pop, Rachel O’Brien reimagines familiar songs with quiet warmth, charm, and soul. One voice, one guitar, and a resonant room.

For nearly a decade, Rachel has performed across boutique hotels, private clubs, weddings, and corporate events throughout Perth and Western Australia. At one point, this actualised as a boutique music agency, which saw her curate and program live music for weddings and corporate events — from acoustic duos to nine-piece show bands. Now, she embraces the simplicity of solo acoustic jazz and soul. Singing as just herself with a guitar for weddings and events across boutique and luxurious hotels, restaurants, bars, and destination venues. 

Formally, Rachel trained in Contemporary Music at the elite Australian music academy, WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts), specialising in guitar and bass performance. And outside of music, she gained a BA (Design) and worked extensively in brand design and strategy, giving her a holistic lens on how aesthetics and the sensory together form an overall event or brand experience.

Sound is a crucial element which shapes the emotional character of a space. It is much more than entertainment. And so, every live music performance becomes an opportunity to create memory, connection, and feeling.
